About Elin
This is Elin’s last year heading up Court2Court at the high school level. Elin Rhyne is compassionate and a senior at California High School who has always had a heart for helping others. She has been accepted into Simpson’s direct-entry nursing program and received an NAIA golf scholarship to represent the Simpson Cal Pac golf team in the fall of 2026. She hopes to continue serving the Simpson community. Her journey began three years ago when Elin founded Court2Court after donating her beloved stuffed animals to foster youth in Contra Costa County. Moved by their resilience and the challenges they face, she sought a way to make a more meaningful impact. Inspired by her passion for basketball, Court2Court leverages the power of sports to bring joy and support to these young lives. As a dedicated player on the Cal High varsity golf team and Cal High varsity basketball team manager, Elin embodies the spirit of both an athlete and a philanthropist. Balancing her athletic commitments on the golf course and basketball court, Elin remains committed to giving back to the community.
About Lana
Lana Vu is a Junior at California High School. This year, she has had the pleasure of joining Elin on her Court2Court journey. Lana is someone who has many leadership roles in the past, currently serving as her junior class president and player on Cal High's varsity basketball and flag football teams. She also participates in track & field: hurdles and sprints at CalHigh. Overall, through Court2Court, Lana has hopes of giving back to the community and strives to better the lives of those in the foster care system in Contra Costa County. As someone involved in her school and community, she knows that Court2Court is an amazing way to unite the community to help a worthy cause.
